The evolution of the synthetic Other
Placed within spheres of the actual and possible, my installations are amalgams of science, facts, fiction, poetry, and speculative thinking. Installations encompass proto-machines, that are auditory, visual and physical exploration of the evolution of the synthetic Other. In my art laboratory, I use elements such as custom-made software and electronics, scents, sounds, and objects made of various materials to create networks of computer algorithms and matter.
Through my art practice, I research our Ultranatural world: relations between us, the technology we use, and nature. At the same time, it is a search for the poetic hybrids forming in-between. The installations allow us to experience the hybrid things through the metamorphosis of subtle sounds, condensations, vapors, and sediments of thoughts and minerals, herbal extractions, disinfectants, poisons, and remedies. Affecting ocular, aural, tactile, and olfactory senses, these installations place us in the space of possibilities, where the actual and potential meet. Sculptural ur-forms or hybrid things, of which the installations are made of, are inanimate things that become alive through technology. They emanate from the impact of technology on the living systems, especially on the human beings.

Club 2.0

For years I wanted to make a project dedicated to the history and political aspects of rave culture and techno music. After getting to know many electronic music communities in social VR spaces, I have decided to make several versions of Club (within Sphere 4 & Sphere5) both as spaces for informal gatherings and scheduled events. These artworks are developed as imaginary futuristic garden playgrounds and have many sculptural elements that I call proto machines. They are inspired by several ancient plants, most notably a proposal of one scientist about what the first flower that appeared on planet Earth looked like. We tried to reconstruct that flower and place it into this world, together with objects that I made inspired by both snakes and plants, to Dyson sphere-like objects that are taking care of the energy needs. PLUR (peace, love, unity, respect) was a credo of the early rave movement. Although sounding like a utopian dream, it might be useful now when we are trying to structure these new spaces we are building in the so-called metaverse or noosphere and find new ways to motivate ourselves in these complex times we are living in.
