AVANTGARDEN: SYNTHSPA
SYNTHSPA is an installation that unfolds across video environments, sound, sculptural structures, substrates, and virtual spaces. All elements remain aligned within a stable, highly controlled atmosphere.
At its centre, a series of human portraits defines the INTERFACE layer of the work.
Faces appear hyper-clear and minimally expressed, suspended within soft, luminous conditions. Skin operates as a precise surface. Small interface elements are integrated directly into it: chrome inlets, micro attachments, and embedded structures with no explicit function. These interventions remain subtle and continuous, distributed across the body rather than concentrated in a single point.
These images draw on the visual language of cosmetic treatments, biotech surfaces, and platform aesthetics, but extend them into a state of over-functionality. Everything appears optimised, refined, and operational, slightly beyond necessity.
Around this layer, the environment expands.
Bathing sequences present bodies immersed in controlled liquid conditions of water, light, and vegetation. Actions repeat without emphasis, maintaining a continuous state of immersion.
A spatial field of sculptural devices introduces a laboratory-like condition. Organic forms and industrial precision remain in balance, suggesting systems that are active, calibrated, and permanently in use.
Substrate operates as the underlying medium of the installation. It appears as liquid, vapor, and atmospheric condition, connecting image, sound, and space. Its presence is continuous but never fully defined.
Macro sequences of reflective substances extend this logic into material detail, while printed surfaces recirculate fragments of the visual field, stabilising the system across physical space.
The work continues in virtual environments, where the same structures persist without interruption, maintaining identical conditions across platforms.
SYNTHSPA holds a consistent state throughout. Care, optimisation, and control remain visible, precise, and fully integrated.
The system functions clearly, though its purpose remains open.
